Abstract

Craniofacial defects are often very conspicuous deformities, and require operation not only for its protective value but also for the cosmetic effect. They most commonly resuly result from traumatic origin and ablatory surgery in both the supraorbital and frontal areas.
The use of autogenous bone for the repair of craniofacial defects is a very worthwhile and reliable method.
The most usual donor sites of autogenous bone grafts in plastic surgery are the iliac bone and the ribs.
Autogenous bone grafts are indicated for defects of the frontal bone near the region of the frontal sinus.
Costal cartilage grafts provide a satisfactory means of restoring supraorbital arch depression.
We present 3 cases of rib cartilage and bone grafts in the repair of supraorbital nad frontal bone defects.
